Live-In Care Services

We Are NOT An Assisted Living Facility. We Are An Affordable, Cost Effective Alternative.

Offering care and companionship at a time when they’re needed most, our 1-2-1 service is tailored entirely to your needs, while also providing complete peace of mind for your family. A genuine alternative to care homes, it offers the support you need to continue enjoying an independent life at home.

Our CQC 'Outstanding' rated live-in care provides essential companionship and support full time to those who need it in their own home.

Our care is highly adaptive, evolving as your needs change, but always remaining compassionate and dignified, whether you need help with daily activities, personal care or with managing a complex condition like dementia.

According to a survey conducted by the Live-in care hub, 97% of us given the choice would prefer to carry on living at home. However, when families are faced with the realisation that their loved one or family member needs increasing levels of care and support, many still feel the only option is to move into a care or nursing home. Whilst there are many good care homes, live- in care is fast becoming the preferred choice for those who wish to continue to live in their own home, whilst receiving the care and support they need to have a better quality of life.

Live-In Care Services

One-to-one care and support around the clock – one-to-one care simply cannot be achieved in any care home.

A uniquely developed, highly personalised plan of care designed to meet your care needs whilst addressing how you wish to live your life - none of the rigid timetables or set routines experienced in a care home.

Specialist and complex care provided by highly trained carers delivered in the comfort of your own home. Familiar surroundings and routines are paramount in helping those living with specialist conditions, like dementia.

No need to move out of your much-loved home, with all the upset and disruption that brings. The family home can then be kept in the family, instead of being sold to fund care home fees. Staying at home means you can keep control of your life, with all your treasured memories and possessions around you.

If you have an adored pet, you will not be able to take this into a care home. With live in care you can keep your pet and the carer will support looking after it, and if you have a dog will be happy to walk it for you.

Considerable and proven benefits to overall health and wellbeing, with much needed peace of mind and reassurance for

family members.

The cost of care is comparable to that of a care home and considerably cheaper for couples, who would be charged double for two rooms in a care home.

Elderly couples who require care can stay together as a loving couple, as opposed to being split up to be cared for in different areas of a care home.

Continuing to be part of the local community you have loved, for what might have been many years.

What is included in our live in care service?

Live in care is when a live in carer comes and lives with you in your home to provide you with around the clock care, companionship and support so you can live a better quality of life whilst improving your health outcomes – and all in the place you love most, your own home. Our professional carer will provide a range of live in care services including:

Providing discreet and sensitive personal care

This can include the task-orientated aspects of caring for someone, like bathing and getting dressed, but also those that promote self-esteem, like having your nails maintained, or your hair styled.

Companionship as and when you need it

Our carers will provide companionship whilst ensuring your privacy is respected. We ensure that a perfectly matched carer shares similar values and interests to make life interesting, stimulating and enjoyable, whilst being there for you to support your emotional and psychological needs.

Managing and administering medications

Our professional carers are trained in medications management and use an electronic medications system to ensure all medications are managed proactively and effectively. They will also collect prescriptions from the pharmacy.

Ensuring safe mobility in and around the home

We have an in-house Occupational Therapist  who will provide guidance and expert advice as to what equipment can help improve safe movement and mobility around your home, whilst minimising falls. He is well placed to provide recommendations on home adaptations that aim to improve the way you live your life

in your home.

Who can benefit from live-in care?

There are several different situations when live-in care can be used to support your care and support needs, including:

  • 24-hour live-in care for when round the clock care is needed to ensure a person can continue to live well in their own home.
  • Respite care can provide a family carer with a much-needed break from caring for a loved one, or can be used as an opportunity to see how live-in care works and whether it is right for you and your family.
  • Short term care, intermediate care or convalescent care following discharge from hospital or for those needing post-operative rehabilitation or recovery from illness.
  • Complex care of medical and specialist conditions like dementia, Parkinson’s or Multiple Sclerosis can be supported with 24-hour home care – there is no need to go into a care home to receive this level of care.
  • End-of-life palliative care which ensures a person’s needs and preferences are met until the very end of their life.
  • Emergency care at home for those who need an urgent live-in care arrangement put in place following unexpected surgery an accident or sudden illness.

At this meeting we will assess the person needing care discussing their individual needs and requirements. We’ll talk you through the service, answering any questions you may have and a discuss the type of live-in carer you are looking for – we not only match their care needs, but we also try to match their hobbies and interests too.

At this meeting we can they provide you with a definitive weekly cost.

We create a care and support plan

We will then put together a care and support plan. This could even include recommendations for home adaptations or appropriate equipment.

Choose the right live-in carer

We’ll help you find a live-in carer. Once contracts have been signed, our Care Partnership Team will source a selection of live-in carers which we feel most accurately suit your requirements. We will then send you a profile of each carer for you to choose your favourite.

Choose a suitable starting date

Once you are happy with your choice of carer we will then arrange a suitable starting date.

On your chosen start date – a member of our Care Partnership Team will accompany the live-in carer to the customer’s home

It really is that simple.
